Dr. Victoria M. Hollifield

With over three decades of veterinary experience, Dr. Hollifield has dedicated her life to advancing the health and well-being of animals. She graduated with honors from UMUC in 1984 and earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1988, where she was inducted into the prestigious Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society.

Dr. Hollifield’s professional journey extends well beyond private practice. She has contributed her expertise to Zoo Atlanta, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Center for Human Genome Research, where she served as Animal Program Director. Her comprehensive background in clinical care, biomedical research, and animal welfare has earned her recognition as a leading veterinarian in the Gaithersburg community.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Hollifield is a passionate advocate for animal rescue. She actively volunteers with Montgomery County rescue organizations and Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary, working to protect and rehabilitate animals in need.

Dr. Hollifield is also proud to work alongside her daughter-in-law, Sabrina, who serves as the hospital’s Manager and Technician. When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Hollifield enjoys spending quality time with her husband Bill, her son Grant, and her beloved granddaughter Paige.

Angelina

With over 20 years of experience in client-facing management and a background as a former boutique owner, she brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal dedication to the practice. A devoted client of Dr. Hollifield for more than two decades, her connection to the hospital is both long-standing and deeply personal.

Affectionately known as a “crazy cat mom,” she shares her home with four beloved cats and a lively 6-month-old American Pitbull Terrier, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. She is happily married and a proud bonus mom to two wonderful children—one of whom she has the joy of working with every day as the hospital’s Technician Team Leader.

Her true passion lies in creating warm, welcoming experiences for clients and delivering compassionate care to every patient. Outside the hospital, she enjoys spending time near the water and participating in one of her favorite sports: dock diving.

Sabrina

Sabrina is the hospital manager at Best Friends’ Veterinary Hospital, and she brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2007, driven by a lifelong passion for animals that began in childhood. With nearly two decades of industry knowledge, Sabrina ensures the hospital runs smoothly and that both clients and their pets receive the highest level of care and attention.

Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys spending time with her husband, Grant, and their daughter, Paige. Their home is shared with a beloved dog, Genevieve, and a cat, Ryker, further reflecting her deep connection to animals. Her warm personality, strong organizational skills, and genuine love for pets make her an integral part of our team.

Mia

I am passionate about animal care and am currently advancing my journey in veterinary medicine. I’m a dedicated veterinary technician with a special love for exotic animals — especially bunnies! I’m currently in school pursuing my degree in veterinary medicine,

I’m driven by a lifelong dream of helping all creatures, big and small. When not studying or assisting in the clinic, you’ll likely find me painting, sketching, or enjoying quality time with my animal companions. I share my home with a curious bunny named Snoopy and a charming snake named Sylvia, both of whom inspire my love for the incredible diversity of the animal kingdom.

My goal is to combine compassionate care with clinical expertise to make a difference in the lives of animals and their humans.

Kian

I’m deeply passionate about animal health and committed to creating compassionate, fear-free experiences for every patient in my care. My goal is to ensure every animal feels safe, loved, and understood — both inside and outside the clinic.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me behind the lens, building my photography business. Capturing meaningful moments is a passion that brings me just as much joy as caring for animals, and both allow me to connect with others in truly impactful ways.

Rae

I’m a certified veterinary assistant currently pursuing my goal of becoming a veterinary technician. I’m also a proud pet parent to a leopard gecko and two senior dogs.

My lifelong passion for veterinary medicine and exotic animals has made my role at BFVH a dream come true. When I’m not caring for our furry, feathery, or scaly patients, I enjoy creating digital art and watching sci-fi TV shows at home.

Kailey

I am a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at Best Friends with a deep passion for animal care and a strong drive to pursue a future in veterinary medicine. Currently a high school senior, Kailey is preparing to graduate and begin her college journey, where she plans to study Veterinary Medicine and continue building her knowledge and skills in the field.

Throughout high school, Kailey was a committed student-athlete, competing in both volleyball and track. These experiences instilled in her a strong sense of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance — qualities she now brings to her work with animals and veterinary professionals.

Kailey takes pride in her hands-on experience at Best Friends, where she supports the care and well-being of a wide range of animals. Her love for animals, combined with her compassionate nature and eagerness to learn, fuels her excitement for what lies ahead in the veterinary field.
