Canine Influenza Virus: H3N8 - How to protect your pet from this dangerous virus!!!! Canine Influenza Virus, also known as H3N8 is a highly contagious respiratory infection that causes flu like symptoms consisting of cough, sneezing and nasal discharge. Virtually all exposed dogs become infected; about 80% develop flu like illness, while another 20% do not become ill. Because dogs of any breed, age or health status are susceptible to this infection, it is highly recommended that you vaccinate your pet as soon as possible to prevent them from contracting this virus. | Canine "Kennel Cough"
Recent reports of Dog Flu outbrakes cause us to continue to be cautious. In order to to keep your best friend as safe andhealthy as possible we recommend Bordatella vaccinations be performed every six months. Please be especially sure that a Bordatella vaccination has been performed on your pet in the last six months when planning to board due to the fact that many facilities only require a one year Bordatella. Be sure to check Kennel's boarding policy before deciding to board.  |
